ADST and Arts Education at Spencer

The Ministry of Education lays out the required areas of study for middle school students, which includes Applied Design Skills and Technologies (ADST) and Arts Education. Each middle school offers a variety of options for students within the ADST curriculum. The program is designed to build on options reflective of the skill and development age of middle school aged students. There will be some variability in the offerings from school to school based on facilities and teacher expertise. The intent of these programs is to provide a broad exploratory base for student exposure in these areas that may lead to informed programming choices at the secondary level. ADST programs are taught by a combination of classroom/generalist teachers and specialized teachers in key areas (e.g. woodworking).
